In his current role, Darnell is responsible for the development and execution of Sysco’s supplier inclusion strategies that support Sysco’s 2025 Corporate Responsibility Goals, direct, and manage the overall supplier inclusion program.
With over a decade of merchandising leadership, Darnell joined Sysco in 2012 to be a part of the original launch of Category Management as a Category Development and Sourcing Analyst. He progressed through roles of increasing responsibility as Product Manager and Category Manager before moving to join the Corporate Marketing team to support all corporate marketing and field activation promotions along with go-to-market strategies. In these roles, Darnell optimized category assortments, streamlined processes, and managed broker and supplier relationships that led to increased case growth and gross profit across the Sysco network
Darnell plays a key role in Sysco’s inclusion initiatives and also chairs the Food and Beverage Industry Group with the National Minority Supplier Development Council.
Darnell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Southern University and is a Veteran of the United States Navy.
