Kevin Johnson currently serves as CEO of Fixins Restaurant Group. Founded in 2019, in his hometown of Sacramento, Fixins Soul Kitchen seeks to set the standard for the American soul food experience by offering authentic southern cuisine and impeccable service in a
hip, energetic atmosphere. Fixins has additional locations in downtown Los Angeles and Tulsa on Black Wall Street, and will open another location in Detroit in 2024, with growth plans to include Harlem, Inglewood, Denver, Oakland, Atlanta and DC.
Fixins Sacramento was named the best soul food restaurant in the state of California in 2021 and Fixins LA was listed as one of the 100 best restaurants in the nation by Newsweek and USA Today in 2022.
Fixins Restaurant Group also owns the rights to Peoples Beer, the nation’s first Blackowned brewery, and has an ownership stake in Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria, a nationwide pizza restaurant concept.
Additionally, Johnson is the general partner of Black Capital, an early-stage venture fund focused on investing in Black founders with investments in Partake Foods, Uncle Nearest Whiskey, Overtime Elite and others. Johnson is also the founding president of the National Black Brewers Association (NB2A).
Prior to his role with Fixins, Johnson served as the Mayor of Sacramento for two terms and was an NBA All-Star.
