April is an accomplished employment attorney with extensive experience in both private practice and corporate settings, admitted to practice in California and Texas. After 11 years of working in private practice, April joined Sysco’s legal team in 2018, advising the company’s HR professionals on federal and state employment law issues.

In 2021, she transitioned into a more strategic role as the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Business Strategy. In this role, April was responsible for developing and operationalizing global DEI initiatives for Sysco’s 70,000+ colleague population. Her expertise and leadership in this area led to her current position as Vice President and Chief Inclusion Officer at Sysco.

April’s commitment to DEI extends beyond her professional role. She is a member of the Women’s Foodservice Forum’s (WFF) inaugural DEI Council, serves on Disability:IN’s International Certification Council and holds a board seat with the Joan and Stanford Alexander Jewish Family Service.
April holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baylor University and a Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law.
