Allison Walker Beacham is a 3-time Emmy Award-winning television host and anchor. She is Spectrum News 13’s “In Focus with Allison Walker” host for both the Orlando and Tampa markets. She also anchors and reports in the field, having been a part of this news team since March 2007.
Being a specialist in entertainment and with the “In Focus”show, she leads conversations with politicians, Hollywood’s biggest entertainers from John Travolta, Garth Brooks, Michael Douglas, Robert DeNiro, Kevin Costner, Harrison Ford, Jennifer Aniston, and many more. celebrity chefs including Guy Fieri, Emeril Lagasse, Robert Irvine and Paula Deen. She regularly covers the South Beach Food and Wine Festival as well as up-and-coming chefs and independent restaurant openings. Allison also covers all of the latest and greatest from the creative teams of the world’s biggest theme parks.
As a storyteller, Allison is inspired by the countless number of compelling people she has met along the way. She’s a pro at crafting a story with a script, visuals, and sound. Her On the Town franchise has been recognized numerous times by the National Academy of Television Arts & Science, and she’s also a two-time Associated Press award finalist.
Allison’s decades-long career in TV news started in college at the Georgia Tech Cable Network. She appeared internationally on CNN’s Student News, launching her into local news at KLBC-TV2 in Laughlin, Nevada as the primary political reporter for both the Nevada and Arizona state legislatures. She then worked at an NBC station in Elmira, New York (WETM-TV) as anchor and lead medical reporter.
Growing up in New Hampshire, Allison excelled in math and science. She attended Georgia Tech for an engineering degree, but her knack for storytelling and her ability to connect with people changed her course. She graduated with highest honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology & Culture, allowing her to discover a broader discipline. Her path to broadcasting has been nothing but unconventional, and she is now a well-respected leader in the Florida television market.
